Gourmet Pizza Sauce

The most important part of any pizza is inarguably the sauce. With fresh herbs, tomatoes and just the right seasoning, this sauce is a little sweet a lot delicious!

ingredients

3 medium garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Tomato Puree with basil
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Crushed Tomatoes with basil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

instructions

  • In a large saucepan sauté garlic in oil until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or until sauce reaches desired thickness.
  • Use sauce with any recipe that calls for pizza sauce. The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for 1 week.
