This cheesy meatball recipe features Tuttorosso Italian Inspirations Tomato Sauce, enhancing each bite with rich, classic Italian flavor. This dish transforms the humble meatball into a gooey, cheesy delight, thanks to melty cheese cubes tucked into each meatball. Sear them for a perfect crust, then finish in Tuttorosso Tomato Sauce to create a comforting, saucy meal. Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 white onion, grated and drained
1 egg, large
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
3 sticks mozzarella cheese, cut each into 4 pieces
1 (28 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Italian Inspirations Tomato Sauce with Basil, Garlic, and Olive Oil

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, minced garlic, grated onion, egg, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan. Mix until well combined.
  • Measure out 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture. Flatten each portion and place a cheese piece in the center. Fold the meat around the cheese and roll into a ball, sealing the edges tightly.
  • Heat a pan or skillet over medium-low heat with a bit of oil. Sear the meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally to cook evenly.
  • Remove meatballs from the pan. Pour the Tuttorosso Tomato Sauce into the pan, simmer until bubbling.  Return the meatballs to the pan, coating them in sauce.
  • Top with freshly chopped parsley and more grated Parmesan.  Serve hot and enjoy!
