Ever since the first time I tried vodka sauce, I was hooked! The delicious creamy sauce, full of fresh tomato flavor, is just so good! It is one of my favorite Italian dishes and in this recipe I paired it with gnocchi to create a comforting dish my family simply adores. @spinachandbacon @thefeedfeed
Ingredients
Copy Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter, salted
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, diced
2 tablespoons Tomato Paste Roasted Garlic
3 tablespoons vodka
1 (28 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Hand Crushed Tomatoes in Puree with Basil & Sea Salt
10 basil leaves, fresh
1 package Prepared gnocchi, 16 oz
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Add butter to a 4-quart pan or pot on medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add in your onions and garlic, cook for 7 minutes or until soft. Stir in the tomato paste and mix well. Add in vodka, mix well, and let simmer for 3 minutes. Add in hand-crushed tomatoes and cook for 20 minutes on low heat.
Once the sauce is ready, add it to a high-speed blender with the fresh basil. Blend until smooth and return the sauce to the pot/pan, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
Cook gnocchi according to the package directions.
Turn off the heat on the vodka sauce and add in the cream and parmesan cheese, stir well.
Once gnocchi is ready, drain it and add the vodka sauce.
