Tender meatballs cook in a simple Tuscan red sauce for a savory dish that will become a family favorite.
Ingredients
Copy Ingredients
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/2 cup half & half
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound Italian sausage
1 medium onion
4 garlic cloves, minced
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 (28 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® Italian Inspirations Tomato Sauce with Basil, Garlic, and Olive Oil
1 (14.5 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® Petite Diced Tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
In a medium bowl, add the torn fresh breadcrumbs and the half & half and let sit for 10-12 minutes.
In a large bowl, add the ground beef, ground pork, sausage, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, Parmesan, parsley, and wet bread crumbs. With your hands, mix until all ingredients are just combined. You do not want to over work the mixture, just to combine. Roll into 1 inch balls.
Heat a large skillet on medium heat with olive oil and brown the meatballs on all sides. Do this in small batches so you don't overcrowd the pan and you get a good crust on the meatballs. Set the meatballs aside.
Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, rosemary, sugar and olive oil to the same skillet and cook for 10 minutes. Add the meatballs back into the sauce and cook for another 10 minutes. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and serve with your favorite pasta.
