Sausage Marinara with Peppers

This marinara is filled with TLC, since it features slices of Italian sausage, zucchini, bell peppers, olives and other herbs and spices. It’s still the sweet and savory marinara you expect—but with a bit more sustenance.
Ingredients

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 large red onion, cut into 2 inch chunks
2 red bell peppers, cut into 2 inch chunks
2 green bell peppers, cut into 2 inch chunks
1 pound Italian sausage
1 (28 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® Italian Inspirations Peeled Plum Tomatoes in Puree
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium high heat. Add vegetables; cook and stir until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add sausage, breaking up with wooden spoon, and cook 4 minutes or until sausage is brown. Add peeled plum tomatoes, oregano, salt and black pepper.
Cover and simmer for 25 minutes, until peppers are soft.
Serve with crusty Italian bread.
Option:
Serve over noodles or rice.
