Turkey Chili

This easy turkey chili is ready in under an hour! Perfect for chilly weeknights where you want a quick meal that is warm and hearty. A chili that is loaded with vegetables and lean turkey for plenty of flavor!

Ingredients

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 small onion, coarsely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
1/2 cup roasted red peppers, chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons ancho chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 (14.5 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Petite Diced Tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can Tuttorosso® Crushed Tomatoes with basil
1/2 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
Ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large, heavy sauce pan. Add the ground turkey. Cook about 5 minutes breaking up the meat as you brown with a spatula or spoon.
  • Add the onions, garlic, celery, carrot, red pepper, oregano, ancho chili powder, and cumin. Stir to combine. Cook for 5 minutes. Add the petite diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.
  • Add the black beans and cook an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve with fresh chopped cilantro, sour cream and cheese if desired.
