A whole new way to enjoy classic lasagna flavors in a creamy dip. Ground beef and Italian sausage simmer in a seasoned tomato sauce then layered just like a lasagna with spinach and three kinds of cheese. Crusty garlic croutons soak up all the tomato goodness and are sturdy enough for the gooey cheese!
Ingredients
Copy Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 pound Italian sausage
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 yellow onion, chopped fine
1 (14.5 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® Petite Diced Tomatoes
, drained
1 (15 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® Tomato Sauce
1 cup fresh basil, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh chopped oregano
3 cups fresh spinach, chopped and cooked, could use frozen but squeeze until very dry
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup goat cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
1 large baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add the olive oil, ground beef and sausage, cook for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Add the onion and garlic to skillet and cook for 5 minutes, then add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil and oregano and cook for 15 minutes to thicken, remove from heat.
In a 9x13 inch baking pan, add the tomato mixture and top with spinach, ricotta, goat cheese, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Place in the preheated oven and for 45 minutes until browned.
While dip is baking, place sliced bread onto baking sheets and brush with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic. Season bread with salt and pepper. Bake for 10 minutes, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with the hot dip.
