This tomato gravy is not for ladling over pasta, but for biscuits instead! Our southern-style tomato sausage gravy is all things comforting and stick-to-your-ribs good! A country-style cream gravy with breakfast sausage and our San Marzano Style Chopped Tomatoes for a breakfast or brunch option you will love.
Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons fresh thyme, finely chopped
1 tablespoon flour
1 (28 ounce) can
Tuttorosso® San Marzano Style Chopped Tomatoes with Sea Salt
, drained
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup milk, 2% or whole work best
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the sausage, breaking up into small pieces as you brown. Add the onion and cook to soften, about 8-10 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme; cook an additional 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle the flour over the sausage mixture and continue cooking, stirring constantly to coat the sausage, for another 2 minutes.
Stir in the tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes. Slowly stir in the milk and cream and bring to a simmer. Continue cooking for 5 minutes, stirring frequently until the gravy thickens. Taste for seasoning and adjust as needed with salt or pepper. Remove from the heat and ladle over our
